James Bertram Scholarship for Asia - 820

Brief Description:

The Scholarship was established in 2015 and is funded by the Wigram Foundation. The Scholarship was established in memory of James Bertram, who was born in 1910 and went on to become a Rhodes Scholar, journalist, writer, relief worker, prisoner of war and a Professor of English. The main purpose of the Scholarships is to support postgraduate students studying at, or intending to study at, the University of Auckland and enable them to undertake study with a focus on Asia. The intention of the Scholarship is to facilitate a strong engagement with Asia. Funding can support a wide range of activities including field work, skills enhancement relevant to the project and research expenses.
