Morton Coutts Scholarship - 687 - 2017

Brief Description:

The Scholarship was established in 2012 and is funded by DB Breweries Ltd. The main purpose of the Scholarship is to support research into science broadly related to the brewing or processing of beer.

Morton William Coutts (7 February 1904 – 25 June 2004) was a New Zealand born inventor who revolutionised the science of brewing beer. Morton Coutts created the world famous ‘Continuous Fermentation’ process, a ground-breaking brewing process where raw materials are added to one end of the system and beer is continuously withdrawn from the other.
